Hey guys. Remember a long time ago we had a holiday archive, Season of the Heart, that kind of went away because of all the trouble we were having with hackers?

Just thought I'd let everyone know I re-opened it as a collection on AO3. So any of you who have AO3 accounts (which should be everyone...if not, let me know and I'll try to get you an invite! :-) ), if you could please add your holiday fic to the collection, I'd be ecstatic! :-) Also, let me know which holidays I missed--I know there are several!

Hey, ladies... I snagged us a new layout for this comm. It's from scholarslayouts. What do you think?

I spent today doing a very overdue, much needed, HUGE update to my fanfic site. I uploaded--count 'em--two new fandoms and TWELVE new stories, some of which have never been posted here because they're either commentfic or were written for challenges or both:

What's new at Probable ImpossibilitiesCollapse )

I don't really have a way to leave feedback on the site (except for e-mail), so if you REALLY want to comment on one of these stories, feel free to do so here. But I figure most of them have already been read and commented on as much as they're going to be. *grin*

Out of total randomosity, would anyone be interested in doing an Ink & Quill Exchange or Free for All this year?

What I'm thinking... either an exchange like did that one holiday season, where we draw names and write something for one person, or use the Free for All format where each of us posts maybe... 10 things (fics/icons/song vids/journal or archive layouts/etc/whatever fannish or non-fannish, original works or... whatever) and let everyone just do what inspires them based off those 10 things.

Or those of us with better ideas than I have can suggest a better format?

Anyway... my idea.. not a holiday thing, because between NaNo and all, and the fact that we all don't celebrate the same holidays and all... I was thinking of it being just a general, no reason other than we can type of affair.

The time frame I'm thinking is *after* NaNoWriMO and the holidays -- an ultimate deadline of Feb 1, for example.

But... just shooting ideas here, people. Interested in hearing what you all think.

This is just a crazy, totally random thought, but... there are times when I kind of wish Ink & Quill or at the very least, some of her members, had fanlistings devoted to them.

I'd join all of them in a heart beat because, honestly, my I&Q sisters are my favorite fanfic writers of all time.

(this message has been brought to you by '2:44 a.m. in Deb's Brain.'  It's such a scary place.)

It's taken a while, but I finally updated my fic site, A Small Drop of Ink.

I put up a new summer-type layout and added three stories:

Paris Falls (Twilight)
Jacob, ficlet, complete
How can he say goodbye to Bella?

What Would Lars Do? (Bandom)
Fall Out Boy
girl!Andy/Pete, girl!Andy/Patrick, short story
Andie won't sell out.

Peace and Joy (Charmed/Supernatural)
AU, the Winchesters and the Halliwells, Complete
John and his boys need a little family time.

Well, here's a hodge podge of things to share today.

We took Steve to the airport today and I fought tears all the way home.  more on that frontCollapse )

This year, I joined embodiment, which is a challenge to keep an actual, physical journal and write in it daily.  My intro post is here and today's entry is here

And I officially opened the new comm I created, quote_fics.  It's a fic comm which uses quotes as prompts.  Posted the first set this morning after Dick Clark's New Year's thing.

So click the image, check it out, join, pimp, whatever.  Please?  *begs*

And lastly... my end of the year fanfic round up is here.

It's depressing, isn't it?  I need to write more, people!

A while ago I had this idea for a new writing comm, where I post quotes and people use them as inspiration for their fics.

There was a little interest, so I went and created it.  not quite ready for an official launch yet, but I'm pimping it here to my friends list first and have a question to ask, to get your opinions on.

The comm is here quote_fics and the question is -- Should I post the quotes daily, once a week, or every other week?

Hey all! Thought I'd show you the result of me playing around to come up with a layout for our holiday archive. The title on it is just a sample, basically--if anyone has any better ideas for an archive title, just let me know. Or if you like it as it is, let me know that too. *g*

the graphicCollapse )

I'm probably also going to make other skins with more specific holidays. Like one for Christian holidays, one for Jewish holidays, Pagan holidays, American holidays, Canadian holidays, etc. But this will be the default skin.

So? What does everyone think? :-)

Randomly, here's a whole hodge podge of stuff.

# 1 -- LJ came out with new writing themes layouts in honor of NaNoWriMo, and one of the free ones fit this comm so well, that I changed our layout to reflect. Check it out. ink_n_quill

# 2 -- I posted my annual NaNo post to my LJ.

Anyone else joining in this year?

# 3 -- I don't know if I mentioned this, but I got nerdy and located all the recs comms we here at I&Q maintain... and then linked them to this comm.  Check out our links section.

# 4 -- There's picspam of the kidlets on my Vox. Aren't they cute?

# 5 -- For a while now, I've been getting quotes from QotD.</a> They send me 4 quotes daily.  Today I had the craziest idea for a writing comm.  A 'QotD Ficlets' comm.  Wherein I would post the quotes and people could write up and post whatever they got inspired with based off those quotes.  minimum 500 words (or higher), fanfic or original fic.   Does anyone else think I'd be insane to try this?
